URINETOWN

Urinetown is a musical by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis.

Synopsis

In a post-apocalyptic future, a terrible water shortage caused by a twenty-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. Public amenities are regulated by the malevolent Urine Good Company, run by Caldwell B. Cladwell, who profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. When Bobby Strong’s father is carted off to Urinetown, Bobby – urged on by Cladwell’s daughter, Hope – decides that he has had enough and plans a revolution to lead everyone to freedom.
