The Baxter Theatre Centre

The Baxter Theatre Centre is a performing arts complex in Cape Town, named for William Duncan Baxter, a former mayor of the city who left money to the University of Cape Town specifically for the construction of a theatre centre. When it opened on 1 August 1977, the Baxter Theatre Centre positioned itself as an alternative to state-funded theatre venues. Today, there are five venues in operation at the theatre centre: the Main Theatre, the Concert Hall, the Golden Arrow Studio, Flipside and the Masambe Theatre.

Visit the venue’s official website or social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for further information.
